Make Photo Collage!

Digital photography free tutorials;
Creating a photo collage

Learn to make photo collage with these easy steps and save on custom photo framing. Listed below are several ways to accomplish this elegant display giving your photo collage ideas a fresh new look. A great idea for any and all holiday photo gifts!

The first of our digital photography instructions, listed below, requires a little more time and effort from you. If this looks like too much work already here are some More Alternatives To Custom Photo Framing and our personal recommendations on discount photography equipment and Clearance Art Supplies

Here is your list of supplies:
A straight edge preferably a yard stick with the cork backing to prevent slipping and scratching the photo.
X-acto knife and plenty of blades.
Super 77 or photo adhesive spray. Neither spray mentions being acid free. We have been creating a photo collage with this process for 10 years and no problems or change in coloration so far, but you can have this done by a framer and request acid free materials. White may be your only option for gator board.

Foam/gator board We prefer black, but comes in a few different colors.
Cutting surface look for a large cutting board made out of a hard plastic. Keep in mind the size of photos you want to dry mount when making this purchase.
All these items are available at your local hobby or craft store.

1:To begin leave a border on your photo for easier handling and spray the back of the photo with the adhesive (outdoors). Be sure not to spray your fingers. This stuff doesn't come off easily and makes the rest of the process nearly impossible.

2:Carefully place the photo on the gator board and press straight down firmly with a paper towel to avoid finger prints. Do not slide back and forth. Straight down is important so you don't scratch the photo.

3: Place your straight edge on the photo's border. Using the white border as your guide. Cut down and away from you and watch you finger tips so you don't cut them off (uh..yes, experience is golden).
